Your privacy is critically important to us. At TERMS, we have a few fundamental principles: we are thoughtful about the personal information we ask you to provide and the personal information that we collect about you through the operation of our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to our users. This includes:

• Information you provide to us: Account data, profile details, messages, location data, and relationship terms that you choose to add in your Profile and elsewhere on the platform.
• Information we get from your use of our services: Log information, device information, IP addresses, and interaction data.
• Verified by Toni: Identity verification is required through Verified by Toni. TERMS does not store identity or verification documents from that process—only a verification status tied to your account. Verified by Toni deletes all verification data upon completion.

2. Identity Verification & Data We Do Not Retain

For Free, Silver, Gold, and Platinum members, TERMS requires Verified by Toni, which validates each user to ensure they are real and who they say they are. TERMS does not store any information pertaining to our users except what is added in the Profile section by the user. Verified by Toni deletes all data upon verification. Platinum includes Privacy Mode — Limited for members who want additional discretion. Asteroid and Mars offer Total Privacy Mode, including email-only sign-in without Toni verification, for members who need the highest level of anonymity. Across every tier, we work to keep a secured platform where everyone feels safe and risks are reduced. We don’t like scammers, fraudsters, and anyone who wishes to be nefarious. This is a community we cherish and wish to build to assist you in your true path of happiness.

Aside from what you voluntarily add to your Profile, TERMS does not retain personal verification materials submitted through Verified by Toni. We use your verification status only to confirm that you are a real person eligible to use the platform.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to power our intelligent compatibility algorithms, provide, maintain, protect and improve our services, to develop new ones, and to protect TERMS and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content – like giving you highly relevant profile recommendations.

4. Information We Share

We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, and individuals outside of TERMS unless one of the following circumstances applies:

• With your consent: We will share personal information when we have your explicit consent to do so.
• For legal reasons: We will share personal information if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

5. Data Security

We work hard to protect TERMS and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information we hold. We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and industry-standard security practices to help keep your data safe.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can manage your data visibility from your Settings page or contact our data protection officer for assistance.

7. Membership Privacy Controls

TERMS privacy controls are tied to membership permissions shown inside Settings. Silver+ unlocks controls such as search visibility, online visibility, and Member Activity visibility. Gold+ adds profile view receipts, favorite visibility, member since date, and recent login location controls. Platinum+ adds incognito browsing. Asteroid and Mars include Total Privacy Mode.

Member Activity controls decide whether others can see profile-level activity such as who viewed, liked, followed, or favorited whom. These controls are part of the privacy system and follow the same membership visibility rules shown in Settings.
